We just wrapped up our 2023 Valentine’s Day Mini Sessions at the studio, and they were so much fun! The confetti, balloons, and some of Knoxville’s cutest kids made the perfect portrait combination!
We photographed infants, toddlers, young children, and siblings all day in fifteen minute increments. Some wonder how we can pull off a photo shoot with little ones in such a small amount of time, but over the years, we have refined our process and craft! We have found what works for us.
-Little ones’ attentions spans are short. I mean S-H-O-R-T. Almost always, we get the best pictures in the first few minutes then everything starts to decline. 15 minutes works great for a mini session for this reason!
-We have everything already set up and ready to go. Our clients arrive early, have their child(ren) dressed and ready to start on time. We usually are able to provide the details of the backdrop/set beforehand so outfits can be matched up!
-We have a variety of props to meet the needs of our subjects whether that is a supported sitter, busy toddler, sibling group, etc.
-We have attention getters that we use to help get the babies and kids to look, laugh, and smile! We have been at this for *a while* so we have a few tricks up our sleeves. We keep a candy stash on hand, too, for a little extra motivation (of course with mom’s permission)!
-We work with a lot of the same families/children over and over. Many of them have become familiar with us and with the process of being photographed. We try to always make sure each session is a happy experience for everyone every single time! Believe it or not, our clients look forward to coming back for photos!
