Southern Charm Portraits is best known for Classic Baby Portraits in Knoxville. Many families choose the studio setting to capture their babies’ milestone portraits as they grow. We have a solid collection of classic backdrops and props to help curate a simple and timeless portrait that families will treasure for years to come.
After the newborn session, the next milestone sessions usually occur at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and then the 1st birthday! Babies grow and change so rapidly- especially during the first year. We are able to capture many important milestones in pictures such as rolling over, sitting up, standing, first smiles, and walking!
The thirty minute session is recommended for babies. Over the years, we have found that babies quickly get worn out with lots of outfit changes and are overstimulated after a period of time. Thirty minutes seems to be a good fit for a baby’s attention span and still allows enough time to capture beautiful baby portraits!
Often, parents will bring an array of outfits and ask us to help narrow down to the best two options. Neutral and pastel colors are the best choice. Keeping it sweet and simple so that the focus remains on baby is best. Avoid bright neon colors and busy patterns. For the most classic look, smocked and vintage outfits are best.
We recommend scheduling your milestone session at least three months in advance if you need certain dates. We will do our best to be flexible with scheduling, but it definitely helps when more notice is given.
